1970 called and it wants it crappy high maintenance cast iron pan back. Be gone hideous creature. Enter French made Staub triple enamel coated cast iron - considered by many of the world's best chefs to be the absolute best (I'm no Gordon cranky Ramsey but I concur). The days of bothersome high maintenance cleaning and oiling to prevent rust are LONG GONE with this baby. It’s hefty enough to get a serious sear on the most formidable steak without losing heat, but light enough to wield with ease via the handle you just wanna grip forever. There’s even a hole in the handle to hang it up when you’re done—cuz it's more beautiful than any painting. The hard facts;

  • PERFECT for high heat searing, browning and caramelizing - this baby does this perfectly.
  • Almost impossible to crack and chip, and will never fade.
  • LOVES any cooking surface; induction, electric, gas, and of course loves ovens. Even loves BBQ’s, and if you’re feeling wild, an open fire.
  • Functions beautifully as a kitchen to table serving dish.
  • ZERO CLEANING BOTHER – dishwasher safe or a damp cloth does the trick.

Why Staub is the world's BEST (yep, better than Le Crueset)

  • Staub cocotte interiors are black triple coated enamel and never stain, Le Crueset are off-white and stain.
  • The slightly rough interior surface of Staub cocotte's create a far superior searing surface versus the mirror-liked finish of Le Crueset.
  • Staub cocotte's have flat lids with trademarked self-basting spikes. Independent tests have shown this keeps food 9 times more moist than Le Crueset’s domed lids that transfer moisture from the lid to the outside of the food.
  • Staub’s knobs are brass or nickel steel, Le Crueset uses phenolic resin knobs.
